Many small businesses simply do not have the resources to pay for web development, especially when you consider that most design and development firms charge upwards of $15k for their services. Many smaller firms simply do not have the mobile-oriented mindset that is critical in today's world of smartphones and tablets. Another lesser-known fact of these so called design agencies: they outsource a good portion of their work to improve their own bottom line. In the end, you could no idea who actually was responsible for your site. If you own a business of any size and in any industry and are ignoring the web, you are without a doubt missing out on critical leads.
That's where the Summer of Small Business initiative comes in. As a seasoned web designer and developer who has worked with clients throughout the entire country as well as local businesses and The University of Rhode Island, I have the experience to get your business online faster and more effectively or to revamp that existing site you're not very proud of. The goal of the SOSB project is simple: deliver a quality, easy to manage website to one new business each week for 10 weeks, starting June 1st, 2013.
This is your opportunity to get online within one weeks’ time and start broadening the reach of your business. I will work with you to craft a completely custom site you want to show off to existing customers, and one that will allow new customers to find you (no one uses phonebooks anymore). Each site will be built to be entirely responsive, meaning it will scale down and look perfect on all screens – from desktop to mobile. I will also work with you to leverage the power of social media networks to drive more consumers directly to you.

The month of May will be spent collecting and selecting the 10 businesses to occupy the 10 week slots. Development will start on June 1st and sites will be worked on in the order the spots were reserved. Each site will have a flat rate of $3,000 USD, and will be split into two payments (50% each) at the start of development of your site and after completion and review.
At the end of the 10 week period, one business will be selected entirely at random and will be refunded the entire cost of development. This means you have 1 in 10 odds of getting an entire site built for you free.I'm Interested!
